Musician Amy Papiransky; Semi-Circle with «This Thing Called Life»

Broadcast on:
8 October, 2024

Scottish singer-songwriter Amy Papiransky is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist with folk roots. Since releasing her debut «Read Me Write» in 2019, Amy has continued to hone her craft on the live music scene, playing several high-profile festivals across the UK. Glasgow-based Amy has found time between gigging and her day job as a high school music teacher to write and record her follow-up album, «Friday’s Daughter», out on October 18th. The album is a collection of folk songs and ballads that delve deep into the themes of love, loss, heartbreak, resilience, and strength. You can get the album on Bandcamp. Amy Papiransky talked to us about releasing duet «Fine Print» with KT Tunstall, the inspiration behind the album title, and putting out merchandise for the first time ever. Listen to the interview here.

The Semi-Circle theatre group's new production is a series of short plays entitled «This Thing Called Life»: an evening of short plays about what you can – and can't – control! The performances are being held at the Theater Arlecchino on Walkeweg 122 in Basel, on 31 October to 2 November, and 7 to 9 November. Director Valentina D'Allessandro and cast member Rik Deurloo joined us to talk about Semi-Circle and the upcoming production. Listen to the interview here.
